In August two small shark tagging trips were held by MWT in partnership with DEFA. One trip took place from PSM and the other out of Peel. We were fortunate to be joined by one of our Patrons, Lady Lorimer, on the first trip. Sadly no sharks were caught but it was a great day to be out on the water. On the second trip we were  joined by Clare Barber MHK, who is a keen angler and Minister for DEFA. This trip was more successful on the fishing front and two tope were caught.

These trips are part of our ongoing small shark tagging programme that we run in partnership with DEFA. Although we are not running any more training sessions this season if you are an experienced angler and would like to get involved please contact Lara at lara@mwt.im to get more information or to book onto next year's training.

If you do catch a shark with a tag on it please report it to MWT, even if it isn’t our tag we can pass the information onto the right groups!
