Manx Wildlife Trust are seeking a full-time coordinator to help deliver Team Wilder in the Isle of Man

We're thrilled to be adding a Team Wilder Coordinator to our team!

Research shows that if just one person in every four takes up a cause, this can be enough to change the minds and behaviour of the majority. Imagine what could be achieved if that cause was nature: if a quarter of people in the Isle of Man created more space for wildlife to look after our precious habitats and species and help bring back what we’ve lost. That’s the goal of Manx Wildlife Trust (MWT): to harness the collective energy and talents of the Island and bring everyone together into a bigger, bolder movement for nature’s recovery. They’re calling this Team Wilder and, with funding from the federation of The Wildlife Trusts (TWT), MWT are now looking to recruit a coordinator to enable and coordinate people in the Isle of Man to help us.

It is hoped the full-time role, initially a two-year contract, will attract someone who can manage and expand MWT’s existing team of volunteers and supporters, and inspire and empower more people to do more for nature in the Isle of Man. Based in MWT’s Peel office, the role will include frequent travel around the Island and offers flexible home working and hours. The Team Wilder coordinator will work closely with Hannah Phillips, MWT’s new Community Ranger who started with the charity in May this year.

#TeamWilder is a TWT initiative across the whole of the British Isles which aims to engage with communities around conservation and empower them to act for nature. MWT’s nature reserves cover just 0.23% of the land mass of the Isle of Man. Through the Agri Environment Scheme, MWT are in a great position to help deliver nature recovery projects on potentially a further <88% of the Island. Through #TeamWilder, MWT hope to reach more landowners, farmers, homeowners, local authorities, and businesses to inspire and enable them, to create a more holistic approach to nature’s recovery in the Island.

Applications should be made by email to graham@mwt.im and include a covering letter and CV. Applicants must state whether or not they have Isle of Man worker status. Full details can be found here www.mwt.im/jobs

The closing date for applications is Sunday 31st July 2022

We’re thrilled to have received funding from TWT which will allow us to recruit a new post to help deliver our MWT mission, to ‘protect and enhance our environment, create more spaces for wildlife, and inspire people to act for nature’. The ideal candidate doesn’t need an ecological background, they just need strong people and coordination skills, a keen interest in nature, and the ability to share that passion and inspire others.
