About the reserve

Two small meadows on the edge of the Ballaugh Curragh which are part of the ASSI and Ramsar site. The reserve has a range of grassland and wetland species. Pale sedge is found in only a handful of sites in the north of the Island. Amongst other plants present are common and heath-spotted orchids, common knapweed, purple loosestrife and yellow rattle.

Management: The meadows are grazed over the winter by sheep and the hay is cut in late summer. MWT manages this site on behalf of Plantlife International.
